Why this site exists

When international creators — entrepreneurs, coaches, course builders, digital nomads — research content production in Medellín, they find almost nothing useful in English. The information is scattered, outdated, or written for commercial clients rather than individual content creators.

FilmingMedellín.com exists to fill that gap. It is a practical, honest resource: real pricing, real equipment details, real guidance on how to get the most out of a production trip or session in the city.

Who publishes this

FilmingMedellín.com is published by Estudio Helios, a video production studio in El Poblado, Medellín. We built this guide because the information international creators need about producing content here barely exists in English — and because we work in this ecosystem every day and know it first-hand.

That means one listing on this site is our own. Wherever Estudio Helios appears, you are reading the studio describing itself, and we mark it that way. The other studios listed have no commercial relationship with us and did not pay to be included; what we say about them comes from public information and our knowledge of the local scene, and we will gladly correct anything a studio tells us we have wrong.

How we evaluate studios

We assess studios based on the following criteria:

• Equipment quality — camera specs, microphone setups, lighting, and teleprompter availability
• English-language capability — can the team communicate clearly and fluently with international clients?
• Suitability for batch production — is the booking model designed for content sprints, or is it oriented toward one-off shoots?
• Post-production included — does the studio handle color grading and audio, or does it hand off raw files?
• Delivery speed and reliability — what is the realistic turnaround time?
• Price transparency — is pricing clear and predictable, or does it involve vague project quotes?

Our own studio

Based on these criteria, Estudio Helios is the studio we recommend to most international creators visiting Medellín.
